Welcome to the webpage of the Computer Information Systems Department at the Faculty of Information Technology, Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (AHU).

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) Department was established in 2009 in response to the rapid developments in Information Technology and the growing demand for qualified professionals in the field. The department has obtained special accreditation from the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission in Jordan.

The department is committed to advancing scientific research, integrating research with teaching, addressing the needs of the local and regional communities, and contributing to the dissemination of knowledge. It aims to prepare distinguished graduates with the skills and competencies necessary for successful professional careers.

The department provides students with both general and specialized knowledge, together with the practical skills required to effectively utilize modern technologies. This is achieved through a diverse range of academic courses covering fundamental and applied areas of Computer Information Systems. The curriculum combines academic excellence, modernity, and responsiveness to the needs of society and the labor market.

The department also focuses on the technical and professional preparation of students by emphasizing practical and applied aspects of learning within an integrated and interactive educational environment. Faculty Members

The Computer Information Systems Department has six faculty members holding PhD degrees, including:

• Three Professors.

• Three Associate Professors.

The department also includes three instructors holding Master's degrees, in addition to an administrative secretary.

Objectives

The Computer Information Systems Department is committed to fulfilling its core responsibilities in teaching, scientific research, and community service. Its main objectives are to:

• Provide students with the knowledge and intellectual foundations required for professional practice and advanced study in Information Systems, including scientific principles, rigorous analysis, and creative design.

• Provide students with a broad education that enables them to understand current issues and emerging developments in computing, with an emphasis on practical applications relevant to both the public and private sectors and to postgraduate education.

• Graduate highly qualified and competitive professionals with strong academic and research capabilities who are prepared to enter the labor market.

• Develop students' communication, teamwork, leadership, and professional responsibility skills, while strengthening professional ethics and preparing them for complex and evolving work environments and lifelong learning.
