On behalf of the academic and administrative staff of the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, I am pleased to welcome all visitors to the faculty’s website.
The Faculty of Engineering at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University was established in 2003 in the city of Ma'an, originally under the name "Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering." It was the first engineering faculty of its kind in Jordan, aimed at enhancing the role of Ma'an Governorate and southern Jordan as a key area for various mining industries. Since its inception, the faculty has been a significant contributor to Jordan’s engineering renaissance and has played a primary role in graduating and qualifying engineers who are ready to join the local and global job markets. In 2009, the faculty’s name was changed to the "Faculty of Engineering" following the expansion of its engineering programs.
The faculty currently includes eight academic departments: Mining and Minerals Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The faculty offers ten undergraduate programs and three master's programs: a Master’s in Computer Engineering and Networks, a Master’s in Renewable Energy Engineering, and a Master’s in Health, Safety, and Environmental Engineering. The faculty is continually working to develop new programs that meet future needs and align with the demands of the job market. All of the faculty's programs have been accredited by the Jordanian Accreditation Council for Higher Education Institutions, and the faculty is actively working towards obtaining international accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) for all its undergraduate programs.
The faculty places great emphasis on attracting distinguished faculty members and strives to continuously send outstanding graduates abroad for higher education in prestigious global universities. Additionally, the faculty organizes training programs for recent graduates in collaboration with the Jordan Engineers Association.
The faculty also focuses on the practical aspects of engineering by providing modern workshops and laboratories equipped with the latest technologies, allowing students to conduct scientific experiments and research. The faculty is committed to serving both the academic and industrial communities through consultations, training courses, and organizing conferences and scientific seminars.
I hope you find the answers to your questions on this website, and please do not hesitate to contact the faculty for further information or to share your feedback.
In conclusion, thank you again for visiting the Faculty of Engineering’s website. I look forward to welcoming you again soon and encourage you to continue your communication with the faculty, its administration, and faculty members.
Best regards,
