Welcome to the Department of Software Engineering within the Faculty of Information Technology.

Software Engineering is a relatively new discipline within the field of information technology. This specialization has emerged to meet the growing demands of the labor market by preparing graduates with the knowledge and expertise required to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software systems. It focuses on applying systematic engineering principles to the software development process, enabling the creation of reliable, efficient, and integrated software solutions that keep pace with technological advancements and the challenges of the modern digital era.

In response to these needs, the Department of Software Engineering was established in 2009 under the Faculty of Information Technology at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University. It was founded alongside the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Computer Information Systems. The department offers modern and continuously updated study plans that align with the evolving needs of the labor market. It is supported by a distinguished faculty with extensive academic and professional expertise, ensuring high-quality education and preparing graduates to compete successfully at both the national and international levels.
