Clinical Intravoxel Incoherent Motion

ملخص البحث
The idea of diffusion magnetic resonance (MR) imaging emerged within the mid-1980s, beside the primary
images of water diffusion within the human brain, as the way to probe tissue structure at a microscopic scale,
though the images were nonheritable at a millimetric scale. Since then, diffusion MR imaging has become a
pillar of recent clinical imaging. Diffusion MR imaging has primarily been wont to investigate neurological
disorders. A dramatic application of diffusion MR imaging has been acute brain ischemia, providing patients
with the chance to receive appropriate treatment at a stage once brain tissue would possibly still be saved,
therefore avoiding terrible handicaps.

Test-Retest Reliability of Continuous Arterial Spin Labeling of
Normal Parotid Glands
-
ملخص البحث
Purpose :To compare the test-retest reproducibility of three scans for continuous arterial spin
labeling (CASL).Materials and methods:In this prospective study, eight healthy subjects were scanned on 3.0 T
scanner with CASL. Three scans were performed at two intervals, i.e 20 minutes and 1 week, reproducibility
of continuous arterial spin at different intervals were observed , by two different readers .
Results:The average value for blood flow measurements of the parotid gland for tow readers were (0min
52.09895 , 20min 54.78945 , 1week 55.13335) , Intra-observer and inter-observer data were assessed by
calculating the percent coefficient of variation (% CVs) of BF(Blood Flow) after the same or other radiologists
repeatedly placed ROIs(Region of Interest) on the gland areas.
Conclusion:The precision of CASL technique in measuring the blood flow of parotid gland makes it an
interesting and considerable method of choice for clinical application of ASL in the future.

Dual Energy CT – A diagnostic boon
-
ملخص البحث
Dual Energy CT (DECT) has been evidenced to be a boon within the field of diagnostic imaging recently. It functions by utilizing a spectrum of tow photons,
thus it’s referred to as ‘dual energy’ CT. Visualizations that are intricate in structural and purposeful detail are possible by DECT due to its capability of material
differentiation and improved detection of iodine at low energies. Due to its ability to differentiate different materials, the requirement for recurrent examinations and
exposure to radiation for the patient is reduced, thereby creating it a safer choice for diagnosis. more during this article, the applications of DECT in clinical observe
for the characterization of excretory organ calculi, liver lesions, thoracic imaging, oncology imaging and artifact reduction. has been represented. Each coin has two
sides, thus, DECT has its own limitations too, that is mentioned more in the article.

Fetal MRI: An approach to practice
-
ملخص البحث
MRI has been increasingly used for detailed visualization of the fetus in utero as well as pregnancy
structures. Yet, the familiarity of radiologists and clinicians with fetal MRI is still limited. This article provides
a practical approach to fetal MR imaging. Fetal MRI is an interactive scanning of the moving fetus owed to the
use of fast sequences. Single-shot fast spin-echo (SSFSE) T2-weighted imaging is a standard sequence. T1-
weighted sequences are primarily used to demonstrate fat, calcification and hemorrhage. Balanced steady-state
free-precession (SSFP), are beneficial in demonstrating fetal structures as the heart and vessels. Diffusion
weighted imaging (DWI), MR spectroscopy (MRS), and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) have potential
applications in fetal imaging
