Dr Khalid Fandi has received his PhD. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Putra Malaysia in 2001. His thesis focused on molecular studies of F6PPK from bifidobacteria. In 2004 he was appointed as a head of School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology at Technology Park Malaysia (TPM). He was involved in projects of nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical production from microorganisms and medicinal plants also, he was involved in conducting a twinning program of B.Sc in Biotechnology with Cal. Poly Pomona and other California State Universities. Dr Fandi joined the department of Biological Sceince at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University in Jordan and was appointed as a faculty member since 2005. He served as a head of the department of Biological Science from 2006 to 2009. From 2015 to 2017 he was on sabbatical leave and joined the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia. In 2009, he has been awarded by German Research Foundation (DFG) a research visit to Prof Hartmut Laatsch’s laboratory at Gottingen University in Germany. Dr Fandi has been serving as editorial board member and reviewer of repute journals. Also he serves as a grand awards judge at the Intel ISEF that held in LA, California 2014 and 2016. He published more than 15 scientific papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals generated throughout different research grants where he was the principal and/or associate investigator and presenting his research work in international conferences and meetings. His current work in detection, isolation and characterization of proteins/enzymes and metabolites biomolecules form microorganisms and plant.
