Department of Community Health Nursing
Chairperson, Dr. Mu'taman Khalil Mahmoud Jarrar
The Community Health Nursing Department is a cornerstone of the academic program at Princess Aisha College of Nursing. It reflects the national role and academic responsibility of preparing qualified nurses to meet the evolving healthcare needs of Jordanian society in light of rapid developmental and technological advancements.
The department comprises three integrated academic divisions:
• Community Health Nursing Division,
• Mental Health Nursing Division,
• Nursing Leadership and Management Division.
The department offers specialized courses for third- and fourth-year students, focusing on advanced concepts in community health nursing, mental health, and nursing leadership and management. It is committed to providing an interactive learning experience that connects academic knowledge with practical application, thereby enhancing students' analytical, critical thinking, and evidence-based nursing decision-making abilities.
The curriculum offered by the department is designed to meet the needs of the local community, the nation, and public health, aligning with the vision of the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Health to develop high-quality and efficient health education programs. It also aligns with the Kingdom's economic modernization vision, which emphasizes investment in human capital and the development of digital and sustainable health services.
In light of the national trends toward digital and technological transformation in the healthcare sector, the Community Health Nursing Department strives to integrate digital skills and artificial intelligence into the educational process. This empowers students to utilize health information systems, telemedicine, and advanced communication skills with patients and the community, thereby enhancing their readiness for the demands of the modern healthcare job market.
Furthermore, department members actively participate in applied research and community projects focused on strengthening primary healthcare, mental health, and community-based prevention. This aligns with the recommendations of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein in his Silver Jubilee Address, in which he called for building a healthcare system based on innovation, leadership, and responsiveness to the needs of Jordanian Citizens.
The department believes that "human beings are our most precious asset" is the compass that guides its mission to build a generation of nurses capable of serving the community efficiently and professionally, and contributing to achieving national health security, through education, research, and community service, in a stimulating academic environment based on partnership, responsibility, and sustainable positive transformation
