The Department of Chemistry, which is one of the college of Science departments at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, was established in 2004 with a passion to be one of the premier departments among peers in the southern part of Jordan. Since then, the Department of Chemistry has persisted to achieve excellence in education, scientific research and community service. It provides the labor market with competitive graduates to serve in the fields of education, chemical industries, mining industries, and others.
The Department of Chemistry provides an outstanding study plan covering several knowledge areas that enable its graduate to compete in the labor market. Upon successful completion of the study plan, the students are granted a Bachelor degree in Chemistry. Currently, the department is in the process to launch a master program in Chemistry.
Currently, the department has highly qualified faculty members who hold several academic ranks. The department also has several laboratory technicians and office staff. The department’s facilities include teaching and research laboratories equipped for the main fields of chemistry such as analytical chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and industrial chemistry.
