Petra College for Tourism and Archaeology.
Petra College for Tourism and Archaeology was established in 2004 to meet the rapidly-growing demand of the country for efficient, highly-qualified graduates in archaeology, hotel management and tourism.
The College is the first of its kind in Jordan to link the various aspects of cultural heritage management from theoretical understanding to practice. There are two Departments within the College:
(1) Archaeology (which includes Archaeology and Tourism Guidance).
(2) Hotel and Tourism Services Management (which includes Tourism Management, Hotel
Management, Food and Beverage Management and Hotel Management-Marketing
The philosophy behind creating these programmes was the importance of both cultural-heritage and tourism and hotel industry in supporting national economy and in interacting with other people’s cultures.
