Prof. Khaled Tarawneh is an academic with expertise in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering and soil, industrial minerals and rocks, and in leadership. He has a PhD in Engineering Geology from the University of Mining and Geology in Sofia, Bulgaria. He has worked as a vice president, active president, professor and dean in several universities in Jordan, including Al Hussein Bin Talal University, Yarmouk University, Amman Arab University, and Isra University. He had 12 years as expert and director in governmental sector in Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. He has published 85 papers and has a total of 1130 citations(Google scholar gate). His research interests are in geology, mineralogy, industrial minerals and rocks, rock mechanics and soil, oil shale, and building stones. In addition, he has worked on various projects related to geological and mineral occurrences, geological mapping, and engineering services, and many other administrative roles in academic level and leadership for many projects.
