Welcome to the faculty of educational sciences at A-Hussien Bin Talal University. The following would provide general information about the faculty of educational science:
The faculty of educational sciences was established at Al Hussein Bin Talal University for the decision of the Board of Trustees, No. (5) dated (14/9/1999).
The College has three academic departments:
1- University Requirements Section: Established by the Council of Deans No. 1/99 (10/10/1999). Previously, the role of the department was carried out by supervising the university's compulsory and elective requirements. These materials represented 30 credit hours (25%) of the total number of credit hours to obtain a bachelor's degree. Currently, the Department offers only 6 credit hours of university requirements (Military Sciences and Principles of Education) Sports).
2 - Department of Curriculum and Teaching: Established in the academic year (1999/2000), and awarded a bachelor's degree in the following academic disciplines:
Ø Bachelor degree in the following majors:
· Class teacher.
Ø Diploma program in the following disciplines:
· General Diploma in Education.
· Diploma in Education in Information Technology.
· Professional diploma in School Administration.
Ø Master degree in curriculum and teaching.
Ø PhD degree in curriculum and teaching methods.
3- Special Education Department: Established by the Higher Education Council Decree No. (630) dated (18/4/2004). Teaching started in the first semester of the academic year (2005/2006). The bachelor's degree in special education and diploma degree Professional in learning disabilities.
Number of faculty members:
The number of faculty members in the Faculty of Educational Sciences (45) is a faculty member with a PhD and Masters degree, and different academic levels, including 7 faculty members, 11 associate professors and 18 faculty members. Teaching with the rank of assistant professor, and the remainder hold the rank of lecturer full-time holders of the degrees of doctorate and master's degree in various disciplines.
Based on the University's policy and its endeavor to distinguish between Jordanian, regional and Arab universities, and to achieve its leadership objectives, the College has taken advantage of the electronic services in conducting many academic or administrative work and created it through academic guidance and correspondence between different departments through electronic methods. The College has reached e-learning in the design of approximately (20) electronic material of the materials offered by the college at the level of undergraduate and graduate studies in the requirements of the university and specialty materials. The faculty also attended various training courses (Black board, Lectora, Elluminate live, Tigrity). The number of research projects during the academic year 2006/2007 reached (10) projects, the most prominent areas were related to the methods and methods of teaching, educational administration, and issues related to educational psychology. The total number of faculty members' research has exceeded 250. The results of the college in the university proficiency exam for the second semester 2006/2007 were ranked first in the second group for the grade teacher specialization. All this is not located in the university building of the college, but the Faculty of Educational Sciences is currently located and until the establishment of its own building in the library building, the second floor.
The number of faculty members has increased since the establishment of the College. The number of faculty members in the College reached (45) members from different academic levels during the academic year 2015/2016 (Chapter 2). Table (1) shows this. The University has also sent a total of (5) delegates to the most prestigious international universities in all parts of the United States of America, and returned to date (4) envoys. The number of members of the administrative body in the college (7) members, during the academic year 2015/2016 (Chapter II).
The most important future aspirations of the College are: - Introducing new programs in postgraduate studies such as: Measurement and Educational Research, Educational Leadership, Methods of Teaching Arabic Language and Educational Technology, as well as the development of professional diploma programs in the fields of Curriculum and Teaching, Methods of teaching Arabic language, methods of teaching Arabic language, psychological education guidance, school administration, diploma in information technology education. The development of a teaching laboratory, the development of a science lab, the development of a music laboratory, and the establishment of an integrative center for special education.
