Capacity Building and Empowering Quality Assurance Bureaus

The EQuAM project will focus on building the capacities of Quality Assurance Bureaus (QAB) in partner universities in Jordan and train their personnel. The WP will consist of training sessions that include training on institutional QA management, setting up QABs, cross-institutional cooperation and external evaluation. In addition, a multiple effect workshop will be conducted in Jordan by trained QAB personnel and external evaluators to Jordanian universities outside the consortium.

Training Session on Institutional QA Management

The training session will be held at UB and attended by one representative from each Jordanian partner university QAB, MoHE and HEAC. The focus of the training will be on institutional QA management, where UB will bring its expertise and knowledge in coordination with its vast network of EU universities and QA experts, to transfer knowledge and best practices to Jordanian participants on internal QA management.

Training Session on Setting Up QABs

This training session will be held at MUTAH and attended by one representative from each Jordanian partner university QAB, MoHE and HEAC. The focus of the training will be on setting up QABs inside a university. UB, Sapienza, TTU and AQU will apply their expertise to transfer knowledge and best practices to Jordanian participants.

QABs Set-Up

The result of the training session on setting up QABs will feed in the actual establishment/upgrading of a QAB in each Jordanian partner university. Procedures for equipping the QABs with the necessary tools to enable them perform their functions and tasks will be followed.

Training Session on Institutional Cooperation

The training session will be held at UB and attended by one representative from each Jordanian partner university QAB, MoHE and HEAC. The focus of the training will be on cross- institutional cooperation in QA management, where UB will bring its expertise and knowledge in working together with other universities in QA and ANECA will offer it experience in working in a complex decentralized educational context.

Training Session on External Evaluation

This training session will be held at Sapienza and co- organised by UM1 and attended by one representative from each Jordanian partner university, MoHE and HEAC. The focus of the training will be on how to organise and manage external evaluations both from the agency and the university perspectives. UM1 and Sapienza will bring its experience into this session. It is expected to count with the participation of French and Italian universities as well.

Multiplying Effect Workshop

A 2-day workshop will be held at MoHE in order to multiply the result of the different trainings. The main objective of the workshop will be to disseminate the lessons learnt during the trainings to all Jordanian partner universities. The MoHE will guarantee that all Jordanian partner universities attend the workshop. EU partners will have the chance to summarize their different experiences during the trainings.
